BREAKING NEWS: Let’s Make Waves and “Splash It Forward” for the Waushara Community YMCA!
The Waushara Community YMCA is coming to life, and we’ve got exciting updates to share! Phase 1—the facility—is fully funded! But now it’s time to take the plunge into Phase 2: The Community Aquatic Center! 
Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far:
SECURED LOCATION: Waushara County Old Courthouse and Park Street area – 209 S. Marie St., Wautoma, WI 54982.
SECURED FUNDS: $11.5 Million for Phase 1 Facility Construction!
SECURED: Stevens Point Area YMCA Leadership, Y Board of Directors Approval and Recruiting Local, Steering Committee, Building and Architect Committee, and more!
BREAKING GROUND: July 1, 2025!
PARTNERSHIP: We’ve partnered with the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin to help turn this dream into reality. To support this vision, we established the “Friends of the Waushara Community Y” fund. Donations for Phase 2 of the Waushara Community YMCA will go to the Community Foundation.
Now, we’re launching the Phase 2 Initiative to build a state-of-the-art Aquatic Center alongside the facility next July! Our goal is to raise the remaining $4.5 million needed for this final phase, BY January 21, 2025—just 9 weeks away!
Why Act Now?
Reaching our $4.5 million goal by January 21 will unlock an extraordinary $1.2 million in federal incentives, bringing us closer to making the Aquatic Center a reality. This is a RARE, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to maximize our community’s investment in this transformative project.
If we miss this critical deadline, we’ll continue fundraising, but the federal incentive will no longer be available. That’s why every contribution matters—no matter the size, it brings us one step closer to success!
We know this is a bold goal for our rural community, but Waushara County has always risen to meet challenges with heart and determination. We can do this!

The Friends of the Waushara Community YMCA are proud to work with the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin to hold the project fund for Phase 2. Donations made towards the Y Phase 2 will go to this fund. All administrative and professional fees have been donated by a third party, so 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the construction of Phase 2.
